Training in Robotic Partial Knee Replacement Surgery in Switzerland

Dear Patients,

On April 22-23, 2026, I had the pleasure of participating in a prestigious international training course focused on partial knee replacement surgery using the VELYS robotic-assisted system, held in Solothurn, Switzerland. The event was organized by DePuy Synthes.

The course was attended by approximately 20 selected orthopedic surgeons from across Europe who specialize in knee surgery. The training was led by some of the most renowned European experts in this field, who shared their clinical experience, surgical techniques, and the latest advancements in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.

The program included, among others:

- indications and contraindications for partial knee replacement surgery,

- analysis of treatment outcomes and the experience of leading European centers,

- advanced surgical techniques,

- hands-on workshops,

- working with the VELYS robotic-assisted system,

- discussion of complex cases and potential complications.

The VELYS robotic-assisted system is an advanced technology that supports the surgeon during the procedure, allowing for even greater precision in surgical planning and implant positioning. In partial knee replacement surgery, precision is extremely important, as it directly affects joint biomechanics, implant longevity, and the patient’s comfort and recovery after surgery.

Partial knee replacement surgery is one of the most demanding and precise procedures in knee surgery. This operation is intended for a selected group of patients with osteoarthritis limited to only one compartment of the knee joint. It allows preservation of more of the knee’s natural structures, which often results in more natural movement, a faster recovery, and very good functional outcomes.

I am currently among the surgeons performing one of the highest numbers of these procedures in Poland. For this reason, the opportunity to participate in such an elite training course and exchange experience with leading European specialists was extremely valuable to me.

I continuously improve my skills and implement the latest technologies to provide my patients with treatment at the highest international standard.

Kind regards,

Dr Paweł Olszewski
